1st Pet Veterinary Centers is a 100% employee-owned veterinary clinic headquartered in Chandler, Arizona. 1st Pet, founded in 1989, is a bustling veterinary hospital offering comprehensive veterinary services, including general practice, specialty care, and round-the-clock emergency services. With three conveniently located facilities in Chandler, Mesa, and North Phoenix, 1st Pet serves the valley. 1st Pet stands apart from the typical veterinary practice, as it provides cutting-edge medical services, delivered by a team comprising both seasoned professionals and young talents. The practice fosters a close-knit, supportive work environment, where team members mutually support one another. Although 1st Pet started modestly, it has undergone remarkable growth over the last three decades, evolving from a single primary care practice into a network of three hospitals with a workforce of over 300 team members.
In 2021, 1st Pet Veterinary Centers became employee-owned when they implemented an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
