Flynn Brothers Contracting is a 100% employee-owned construction company headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. Flynn Brothers Contracting is one of the region's largest site, utility, and green construction companies. With over 45 years in the industry, it is also one of the most experienced and trusted. The company began in 1973 when brothers John and Jesse Flynn, after graduating from Bellarmine College, started patching asphalt and paving driveways to supplement their teaching incomes. By 1980, when their younger brother Ed Flynn joined, the firm had grown significantly. In 1982, Jim Rice joined as a partner, bringing his engineering and construction expertise.
Flynn Brothers Contracting has expanded to include asphalt material sales and site preparation and construction. It has grown into a regional leader in asphalt paving and site construction, and is one of the largest site contractors in Metro Louisville, Kentucky, with over 200 employee owners.
In 2004, Flynn Brothers Contracting became employee-owned when they implemented an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Employee ownership means that every employee has a vested interest in the success of each project, ensuring consistent, high-quality results for clients.
