Our Opportunity
GPJ is hiring a Pre-Press Specialist who will support the Graphic Production Manager in acquiring, manipulating, and ensuring the quality of graphic production files.
This role is on-site, requiring you to report to our Nashville, TN office location a minimum of 5 days per week.
Your Role
As a Pre-Press Specialist, your role encompasses various tasks related to acquiring, manipulating, and ensuring the quality of graphic production files.
Your main duty in this position is to acquire and manipulate graphic files to ensure they meet high-quality production standards. You use both vector and raster-based graphic design software to inspect, adjust, and prepare these files in accordance with departmental specifications.
Additionally, you create documentation and files that provide essential information for your production team. This includes internal print proofs, layout designs, print tests, and finishing details. You’re also responsible for managing colors and identifying them accurately.
Furthermore, you take on other responsibilities such as tracking job times, organizing and storing files, providing training, engaging in continuous learning and research to enhance your skills, and carrying out any additional tasks assigned by the Manager of Graphic Production.

- Effectively and efficiently manipulate digital graphic elements to output consistent and high-quality production files for print.
- Organize, track, and document all necessary items to assure a job or task has been finished completely.
- Communicate and work effectively with other graphics production personnel to achieve common goals.
- Identify opportunities to improve the pre-press process.
- Work well in a deadline-driven and frequently stressful environment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Your Experience
- High competency in graphic design software including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Extraordinary knowledge of graphic file types such as .psd, .tiff, .pdf, .eps, .jpeg, .png, etc.
- Color theory and color management experience.
- Experience working with large format graphics
Travel & Mobility
- Estimated travel for this position is less than 5%
- Ability to work irregular hours in addition to normal business hours, to include nights, weekends and holidays as needed
