Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior AI/ML Engineer to join our Innovation Team. In this role, you will lead the development and deployment of cutting-edge AI and machine learning models, driving transformative insights and automation throughout the firm. Your expertise in generative AI, natural language processing (NLP), and machine learning pipelines will help shape KSM’s AI strategy and elevate our technological capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
AI/ML and Full Stack Engineering
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable machine learning models, including NLP and generative AI applications, for diverse business needs.
- Architect and optimize end-to-end ML pipelines, from data preprocessing to model deployment and monitoring.
- Use Python to process data in structured and non-structured formats - including relational databases, data lakehouses, spreadsheets, pdf files, and images.
- Implement infrastructure for model training, tuning, and inferencing using cloud platforms such as AWS and Databricks.
- Preference given to individuals with demonstrated full stack development ability – ideally in Typescript/Javascript and Node. Web-based Python frameworks such as Django are also acceptable.
Generative AI Leadership
- Lead initiatives to integrate generative AI solutions, including large language models (LLMs) and intelligent document processing, into business processes.
- Create full-stack applications that leverage traditional AI models and generative AI.
- Develop innovative applications of generative AI to enhance client services, internal automation, and employee productivity.
- Stay updated on advancements in AI and assess their applicability for KSM’s needs.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, software developers, and business analysts, to understand needs and deliver AI-driven solutions.
- Communicate complex AI concepts and insights to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Provide technical mentorship and leadership to junior team members.
Governance & Best Practices
- Implement best practices for AI/ML model governance, ethical AI use, and compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure robust monitoring and performance management of deployed models, prioritizing fairness, explainability, and reliability.
- Automate and optimize AI/ML workflows to enhance efficiency, scalability, and repeatability
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in AI/ML pipelines promptly, ensuring consistent system performance.
Required Qualifications:
Technical Expertise
- Proven experience in building and deploying machine learning models using frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, or Scikit-learn.
- Proficiency in AWS services for AI/ML (e.g., SageMaker, Bedrock, Lambda, S3) and Databricks.
- Strong programming skills in Python; experience with data processing libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) and big data technologies (e.g., Spark).
- Expertise in NLP, generative AI, and the implementation of large language models.
Experience
- 5+ years in AI/ML engineering or a related field, with a focus on deploying production-grade AI solutions.
- Demonstrated success in applying AI/ML models to solve business challenges and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to create and full stack applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with generative AI frameworks such as OpenAI API, Hugging Face, or similar.
- Knowledge of cloud-based DevOps tools like Terraform, Jenkins, or Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with modern BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and their integration with AI platforms.
- Relevant certifications in AI/ML or AWS services.
