Novaspect, Inc, an Emerson Impact Partner and global leader of process systems and solutions, is currently offering an opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Cash Applications Specialist to join our fast paced, customer orientated team in our Schaumburg, IL location. The successful candidate will manage the daily cash application function and manage accounts receivable activities including on-going review of credit limits, and customer invoicing. The Accounts Receivable Cash Applications Specialist will assist the finance department in the preparation and review of key financial performance metrics for the accounts receivable area. 

Accounts Receivable Cash Applications Specialist Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Handle cash applications including lockbox, ACH payments and remote capture. Update daily consolidated cash reports and review for accuracy
• Communicate with customers to resolve payment disputes and review all short payments for validity
• Assist in establishing and maintaining professional processes and procedures to reconcile and understand customer non-payment issues
• Manage most aspects of the accounts receivable activities for accounts assigned and assist team members as needed
• Ability to quickly recognize a problem, analyze it and arrive at a clear and concise resolution that will benefit all parties involved
• Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to assist in the identification, understanding and resolution of unpaid balances
• Proactively contact customers before invoices are due to identify customer payment concerns  
• Assist the Accounting Supervisor and Controller in establishing credit limits for new customers using various financial tools/research to access their credit worthiness as well as the revision of existing customer’s credit limits
• Perform procedures necessary to complete customer invoicing process. Send invoices via the method requested by the customer (Invoice portal, EDI, Mail, Email or Fax)
• Actively participate with team members to achieve company and departmental goals 
• Any other duties as assigned including reports as needed

Accounts Receivable Cash Applications Specialist Education and/or Experience:  

• High school diploma required
• 2-3 years of related experience or customer service and relationship building a plus
• High computer application literacy including Word, Excel and the Internet are required, and ability to learn internal business systems

Accounts Receivable Cash Applications Specialist Additional Requirements:

• Able to manage difficult customer situations and respond promptly to customer needs
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to build and support teamwork
• Quickly embraces, learns and applies new technology and/or procedures

Accounts Receivable Cash Applications Specialist Pay: 

• $24.50 - $27.50 per hour
• Overtime eligible
