The Modeling and Simulation Integration Engineer will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Engineering Directorate Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Office (DES) in assessing Missile Defense System (MDS) capabilities within a distributed Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation environment. This role focuses on Continuous Developmental Integration (CDI) activities, MDS Ground Test (GT) events, and MDS Flight Test support, providing hands-on integration and testing of MDA’s distributed software threat simulation within the Objective Simulation Framework (OSF).
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and operate OSF systems to support testing and integration activities.
Conduct hardware/software/network integration, troubleshoot defects, and resolve HW/SW anomalies.
Load and configure framework software, perform benchmark tests, and document results.
Develop, execute, and report on test plans and test procedures in a HWIL lab environment.
Support software testing, including scenario development and threat conversion for internal test requirements.
Adhere to established processes, participate in document reviews, provide status updates, and collaborate across teams.
Attend and present findings at working group meetings, coordination meetings, peer reviews, and technical interchange meetings.
Primarily support operations at a local government facility, with potential travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university.
Experience: 0+ years of relevant experience.
Security Clearance: SECRET clearance required (must obtain Interim SECRET within 30 days and maintain final active clearance).
Hands-on experience with HWIL lab environments, including setup, configuration, and integration.
Strong understanding of UNIX and Linux operating systems.
Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and function within a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with DoD Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) programs, system test labs, and operational procedures.
Prior Test and Evaluation (T&E) experience supporting Pre-Flight/Ground Testing.
Experience with Test and Execution for the GMD System Trainer (GST).
System Administration experience (Security+ and/or Linux+ certifications preferred).
Familiarity with supporting System Engineering Requirements for exercises and new capabilities through working groups and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs).
