The student will typically work 30 hours per week. More hours are available when classes are not in session. Specific work cell placement will vary to give various opportunities for the MIT to understand different functions within the company to aid in selecting a future area of study.
Classes at Ivy Tech can begin after 90 days of continuous employment with IMMI.
The MIT can choose to study ANY 2-year program offered by Ivy Tech up to $5,250 annually. MIT will take classes AND still work a minimum of 30 hours per week at an increased rate of pay after Year 1. This empowers continued knowledge and skill development, time management skills, and prioritization. The MIT must maintain a B average to remain in the MIT program.
Qualifications & Selection
Recommendation from the student's guidance counselor or a technical-studies teacher.
Student’s high school courses or Ivy Tech recommendation, showing a concentration in manufacturing and/or technical courses.
Current High School Senior or recent graduate, or current Ivy Tech student, at least age 17 and Drug Free.
Pay starts at $18 per hour to the MIT with opportunity for growth, based upon productivity.
Educational assistance is for Ivy Tech for tuition, fees, and books.
