Our Opportunity
GPJ is looking for a strategic Account Director to join one of our growing accounts that will support the day-to-day management of experiential, conference and event work for a large tech client. Your Role
As the Account Director, you will collaborate with the broader Account Team and directly with the VP, Global Account Director to drive the strategic vision for the business that will enable your teams to deliver on their projects and grow the portfolio. You will have the opportunity to work across various project types - from strategic projects, creative ideation, content development and execution of events and programs. In this role, you will work with a team to balance shifting priorities, programs and deliverables to ensure all projects are on time, on budget and exceed client expectations. You will be a pivotal member of the account team in ensuring overall account health and client success.
In this role, you will collaborate with other team members on identifying, planning, and managing key deliverables, activities, budgets and deadlines for individual projects, as well as review, evaluate and critique creative ideas/output to ensure that work meets client and agency quality standards. You know how to balance client expectations and internal team needs.
You will also work daily on the planning, development, and delivery of client experiences and contribute to the development, writing and delivery of client presentations, scopes of work and project proposals for an existing calendar of events/projects plus incremental projects across various client groups and departments. Your ability to anticipate potential issues or needs and solve them ahead of time will be a recipe for success when it comes to overall client success.
You will develop internal relationships and partnerships with various disciplines including strategy, creative, production, operations, and finance and work as an integrated GPJ team. Through these collaborations you and this team will be able to provide key client insights and clear marketing direction and build a solid, trusting, value-added relationship with your client(s).

Core Responsibilities
- Responsible for day to day client satisfaction across the portfolio of business and specifically for assigned programs/projects
- Work with the VP, Global Account Director on new business development and organic growth
- Understand agency core capabilities and the opportunities and efficiencies they create across the program work
- Manage the Event Scope of Work (SOW)
- Make recommendations for course correction of planned activity as needed based on business needs; challenges and results
- Maintain regular update/status meetings with team
- Provide training and mentorship regarding client goals and objectives to extended GPJ team
- Day to day and first point of contact for all client issues and escalation items
- Provide ongoing strategic direction and best practices consultation regarding the overall portfolio of events
- Partner with Strategy to identify sales opportunities and help develop strategic plans to continuously grow the business
- Provide input into post-event scorecards and provides recommendations for continuous improvements and efficiencies
- Participate in various planning sessions both client-facing and internally focused
- Manage agency event feedback and recap process for assigned programs
- Ensure resources are properly assigned to their roles, and partners with xfn leads to staff up or down based on the project scope
- Manages financial health of projects from a resource utilization standpoint and supports in the development of resource tracking management processes

Your Experience
Experience & Education
- 8+ years of previous industry / agency experience
- 6+ years of progressively increasing client management responsibility/experience desired
Travel
- Ability to travel as required
Salary Range: $110k - $140k
Salary is dependent on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) experience, skills, and location.
