We are seeking a Director of Information Technology to lead the strategic direction, management, and growth of EEA’s Information Technology infrastructure and systems. This role is responsible for developing and implementing technology solutions that support business goals, strengthen data security, and ensure regulatory compliance. In partnership with senior leadership, the Director of Information Technology will shape IT strategies that align with company objectives and lead organization-wide efforts to modernize and protect EEA’s IT environment. This role is located in Austin, TX and has a flexible hybrid work schedule.



Responsibilities

IT Strategy & Leadership

  • Drive the development and execution of strategic IT initiatives that align with EEA's business goals and position the company for future growth
  • Partner with senior leadership to integrate technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support company-wide objectives
  • Establish and strengthen key vendor and service provider relationships to ensure the delivery of cutting-edge technology solutions and services
  • Monitor emerging technology trends and innovations, evaluating their potential to improve business outcomes and maintaining EEA's competitive edge
  • Lead company-wide disaster recovery and business continuity planning, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid recovery from disruptions
  • Define and report on quantifiable metrics of IT success, including annual cost-benefit analysis of technology assets and strategic initiatives
  • Champion technology-driven business process improvements, continuously seeking opportunities to leverage IT for maximizing profitability and performance


Security & Compliance

  • Own and lead all aspects of IT governance, security, and compliance to meet and exceed regulatory standards, including CMMC, NIST, DFARS, FAR, ITAR, EAR, and FedRAMP
  • Direct company-wide data governance strategies to ensure secure management of data across all platforms, clouds, apps, and devices
  • Implement and oversee robust security frameworks and regular security audits, leveraging Microsoft Purview and other advanced tools to safeguard sensitive information
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce comprehensive IT policies and procedures, ensuring the protection of company assets and adherence to privacy regulations
  • Manage and ensure compliance with data lifecycle management for all projects, protecting client and corporate data from inception to completion


Technology Management

  • Lead the design, deployment, and optimization of company-wide IT systems, including Microsoft 365, Intune, and Purview, to support secure and efficient operations
  • Evaluate and modernize EEA’s remote desktop and virtual desktop environments, including assessing potential migration to Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) or equivalent high-performance solutions
  • Direct and mentor internal IT staff and manage external technology service providers, ensuring exceptional service delivery and team development
  • Oversee IT operations to ensure all staff are equipped with properly configured workstations, software, and tools that enable peak productivity
  • Control IT budgets and drive investment strategies, optimizing spending while aligning IT capabilities with organizational needs
  • Implement proactive measures to safeguard and optimize all company devices and systems, ensuring high security and performance standards
  • Lead company-wide hardware and software lifecycle management, including inventory, upgrades, standardization, and troubleshooting, to maintain robust IT infrastructure


Training & Culture

  • Lead company-wide initiatives to foster a culture of security awareness, providing ongoing training on data protection, secure technology usage, and emerging cyber risks
  • Promote best practices for IT usage and data handling, empowering Employee-Owners to leverage technology confidently and securely in their roles



Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT leadership, with demonstrated expertise in Microsoft 365 Administration and Intune
  • Strong understanding of government compliance standards, including CMMC, NIST, DFARS, FAR, ITAR, EAR, and FedRAMP
  • Experience working with Department of Defense (DOD) or Department of Energy (DOE), with knowledge of security clearance processes and regulatory requirements
  • Proven ability to lead IT strategy, governance, and security initiatives aligned with business goals
  • Strong project management skills, overseeing IT projects from planning to execution
  • Familiarity with the Architectural/Engineering/Construction industry, including knowledge of Autodesk and Bluebeam software



Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft GCC High platform, meeting regulatory requirements for handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and sensitive data
  • Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) implementation for secure, scalable, and high-performance virtual desktops
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview Compliance Manager, including implementation and management of compliance solutions
