Job Title: Transportation Division Manager
Job Summary:
The Transportation Division Manager oversees a fleet of drivers and subcontractors to ensure smooth service for both internal and external customers. This involves scheduling timely and cost-effective load transportation, enforcing driver safety and compliance with policies and regulations, and maintaining high levels of customer service. The role reports to the VP of Fleet and Asset Management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the transportation of goods and materials to and from construction sites
Develop and implement transportation policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and laws
Manage a team of drivers and transportation staff
Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies
Monitor transportation costs and identify areas for cost savings
Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained and serviced
Develop and maintain relationships with transportation vendors and suppliers
Provide regular reports on transportation activities and performance
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in transportation management, logistics, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation management, preferably in the construction industry
Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and laws
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to manage a team and work collaboratively with other departments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management software
