Civil Engineer - Bridge Design

Our Grand Rapids, MI office is looking for a Civil Engineer - Bridge Design Engineer with at least 2 years of related experience 

As a Structural Bridge Design Engineer with Modjeski and Masters, you will work on a variety of challenging and rewarding bridge engineering projects for a myriad of transportation clients. As a member of our team, you'll be immediately responsible for performing engineering tasks under the careful supervision of established and respected professionals. Position Available: 

• Entry level 
• Ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of related experience 

Education and Licensure Requirements: 

• At minimum a BS in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university 
  • ​​​​​​​Home - ABET
• Michigan PE license preferred but not required 
• MDOT experience is preferred but not required

General Responsibilities, Skills and Abilities: 

• Reviews and check standard structural design calculations.
• Perform rating and design tasks.
• Perform limited structural analysis and design of standard bridge components using general analysis software, client-specific software and in-house programs under direct guidance from Project Managers and senior-level engineers.
• Develop preliminary details using CAD software, and provide information to CAD technicians for development of contract plans directly related to design work
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including occasional field service assignments.
• Knowledge of Microstations and Bentley OpenBridge Modeler.
• Ability to work in a team environment on bridge related projects.
• Basic knowledge of computer assisted drafting and design.
• Ability to use standard engineering analysis software.
• Good oral and written communications skills, with a fluency in English.
