We are seeking a UAS Engineer to provide operational analysis and subject matter expertise in support of unmanned aerial system (UAS) operations and testing. The Engineer will assist in mission planning, operational assessments and evaluate to enhance UAS effectiveness and integration into military operations.
Responsibilities
Conduct operational analysis of UAS missions to optimize performance and effectiveness.
Coordinate with military units, contractors, and government agencies on UAS operational needs.
Assist in training and operational integration of UAS into existing frameworks.
Provide programmatic and technical support for implementing new technical systems.
Coordinate with FAA and appropriate agencies to support flight test operations.
Provide recommendations and/or modifications during HWIL development and flight testing.
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering from accredited college or university.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Unmanned Aerial Platforms.
Experience working directly with government personnel on UAS and cUAS activities.
Ability to make recommendations for UAS and cUAS development and provide risk mitigation measures that support the mission.
Ability to provide onsite support for test evaluation and execution, significant travel maybe involved.
Must be able to maintain strong customer and vendors relations.
Develop Strategic Initiatives to support UAS, cUAS, and Aviation Business Development.
Support integration of UAS and cUAS technologies and capabilities in coordination with vendor and government entities.
Develop collaborative vendor relationships to support both the government and Torch Technologies.
Prior experience working with US Government and defense contractors on UAS integration.
Operational planning and execution for exercise and experimentation required. Experience with direct support of experimentation. (i.e., Project Convergence)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and briefings.
Ability to work in dynamic environments and collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams.
A current DoD Secret security clearance is required. Current DoD Top Secret security clearance is desired.
Up to 50% travel CONUS and OCONUS maybe required.
US Citizenship is required.
