As part of the Barrel One Collective, you’ll be stepping into a leadership role at one of our flagship locations, helping shape the guest experience and supporting an incredible team.
The Role: Assistant Restaurant Manager
You’re a hands-on leader who brings positivity, hustle, and high standards to every shift. You lead with empathy, set the tone on the floor, and know how to juggle team support, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence all at once. You’re ready to help drive the culture, the numbers, and the experience—and you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty along the way.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
Recruit, hire, and train FOH staff with an eye for talent and fit
Coach, motivate, and support team members on the floor and behind the scenes
Schedule strategically to balance labor efficiency with team well-being
Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive work environment
Support food and beverage quality, flow, and guest satisfaction
Assist in ordering, inventory control, and vendor management
Help maintain financial accountability, working closely with the GM to meet revenue goals and manage costs
Partner on seasonal planning, events, and marketing initiatives to drive traffic and enhance the guest experience
Guest Experience & Brand Stewardship
Model exceptional hospitality on every shift—warm, attentive, and knowledgeable
Resolve guest concerns with professionalism and care
Represent the B1C and Smuttynose brands with pride and integrity
Be the connector between our food, our beer, and the people who enjoy both
Health, Safety, & Compliance
Ensure health, safety, and cleanliness standards are exceeded—not just met
Stay current on ServSafe, liquor certifications, and local guidelines
Foster a safety-first culture across all departments
Who You Are
2+ years in restaurant or bar management (brewpub or seasonal experience is a plus!)
Strong leadership skills with a team-first mentality
Confident with POS systems, ordering, inventory, and scheduling
Calm under pressure, organized, and solution-oriented
Genuinely passionate about food, beer, and building community
Available nights, weekends, and holidays (especially in summer!)
Able to lift 65 lbs and stay on your feet throughout long shifts
