About being our CAD Designer

In this hybrid role, our experienced CAD Designer will be working both independently and with a team. Our ideal candidate will bring their collaboration and communication skills, along with their high-quality drafting practices and civil design expertise, to efficiently assist with project work and support the team.

Responsibility Highlights for our CAD Designer

Work under minimal supervision providing support to a project team
Help with the development of projects and transform initial rough product designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working documents
Support preparation of base design drawings, plans, exhibits, and details using CAD
Assist with projects regarding water, wastewater, highway design, traffic infrastructure, and road/storm drainage
Assist in utility investigation and coordination
Be responsible for organizing and executing the preparation of base drawings, plans, and exhibits using CAD
Performs thorough quality control (QA/QC) of models and sheet files for standards compliance
Maintain structure and organization of project files and standards
Create, maintain, and edit traffic flow, traffic infrastructure, highway design, and road/storm drainage projects from concept through final construction drawings
Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions
Support other team members as needed

Minimum Qualifications to be our CAD Designer

Associate Degree or Technical College or Vocational Training in CAD
5+ years' experience of AutoCAD and Civil 3D relevant to civil engineering
A comprehensive understanding of the design process in the civil engineering transportation and public works industry
