SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Reports to: Accounting Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

The Senior Accountant position will hold a lead role in the accounting team within our holding company. They will be a member of a dynamic, fast-paced accounting team in an employee-owned company which owns multiple different companies within various industries. As an employee-owner, he or she will support the Pro Food Systems mission, help our team achieve our vision statement, and live according to the company’s core values.

The position will train and work with various areas in the accounting department to be a lead on all general ledger related items. This individual will be sound in technical GAAP accounting and success will be in learning tasks within these different areas including, but not limited to, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank Reconciliations, and more complex General Ledger areas including, but not limited to, intercompany transactions, eliminations, fixed assets, notes payable, leases, etc.

Position will work directly with the Accounting Manager to assist with monthly financial statement closing and preparation, including journal entries, general ledger review, and financial statement comparisons and analysis. This position will also lend support to the CFO.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Key member of our consolidated month end close process with ownership in consolidating the financials of multiple entities.
Perform accounting activities and necessary roll-forwards for fixed assets, leases, notes payable and receivable schedules, payroll entries, accruals, bank reconciliations, and other general accounting functions for multiple companies.
Assist in treasury management functions with multiple banks to manage cash and perform recurring intercompany cash transactions.
Perform cash forecasting for multiple companies (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually) and analyze cash flow trends to key stakeholders.
Perform monthly financial statement analysis and provide key company stakeholders with key data points.
Assist in all areas of the accounting system (NetSuite) and become a power user within the software.
Prepare multi-state sales and use tax.
Lead licensing and permitting duties within multiple companies.
Assist in preparation of annual budget and forecasting.
Prepare financial data as requested from leadership.
Responsible for annual audit and tax preparatory requirements.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

BS/BA in Accounting, Business, or Finance
3 + years general accounting experience
Possess a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Detail-oriented and excellent follow through
Excellent time-management with the ability to meet tight deadlines
Ability to quickly process information and make decisions
Computer literate: Word, Excel, Outlook, and computerized Accounting Systems
Must be dependable and able to work independently with little supervision as well as with a team of individuals.
Excellent communication (verbal & written)
Strong customer service orientation
Must be able to pass background check.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is typically performed in normal office conditions
