PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Utility will operate and/or perform a variety of tasks and job duties on a regular basis. While performing these tasks, the Utility will be expected to produce defined quantities of parts and components according to company and customer specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Strong knowledge of processes and procedures in the plant.
- Operate various pieces of equipment.
- Able to work overtime hours based on workload in the facility.
- Complete day to day tasks; tasks will vary depending on applicable work load at each trained area.
- Demonstrate ability to read and follow prints and schedules.
- Measure parts and components to verify accuracy according to company and customer specifications using instruments including but not limited to micrometer, caliper, and dial indicator.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance in various departments.
- Perform housekeeping in various departments.

- Know how to read a tape measure.
- Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.

- Demonstrate a consistent and appropriate sense of urgency.

EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS
- High school diploma or a general education degree (GED); or
- One to three months related experience and/or training; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
TRAINING – CERTIFICATIONS – LICENSES
- Forklift license.
- PPI welding certification preferred but not required.
- Continually participate in additional training related to the job.

- Must be able to frequently stoop/bend.
- Must be able to regularly use hands and arms.
- Must be able to regularly stand and walk.

- Must be occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assist available.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision.
ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY
- The noise level in the work environment is usually LOUD.
- Occasionally exposed to toxic chemicals and extreme heat (non-weather).
- Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
- Regularly exposed to fumes and airborne particles.
- Steel-toe safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and protective gloves. Additional PPE may be required depending on the work area.
- Specific hearing abilities required by this job include being able to respond quickly to instructions in a fast-paced work environment and demonstrate good communication skills.
