WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Forklift operators move our product - whether it's loading or unloading product for transportation, wrapping finished product, or moving product around the facility. Forklift operators must be safety-minded and have good attention to detail.
- Safely and efficiently operate a forklift; perform required daily inspections.
- Pick full and partial pallets, wrap pallets when necessary, stage product for loading, and check pallets for accuracy to order.
- Maintain clean and organized aisles or rack storage, and consolidate partial pallets when needed.
- Inventory product as needed; label, sort, wrap, and tie product.
- Hand-load product onto containers.
- Communicate with management and maintenance personnel on a timely basis to facilitate maintenance and repairs.
- Comply with company safety policies and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures including timely and accurate documentation of required SQF forms.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Mill Supervisor or Plant Manager.
WHAT WE NEED
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
High School Diploma or GED
Basic computer skills, including touch screens
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work well with all levels of employees, whether individually or in a team environment.
- Ability to perform basic math skills.
- Effectively communicate questions, problems, and reports to co-workers, supervisors, and management personnel.
- Flexibility to accommodate unscheduled changes in duties and work overtime as needed.
- Must display a positive attitude and work well with all levels of personnel.
