JOB SUMMARY:
The Material Expediter is responsible for maintaining a balanced flow of all materials, tools, and equipment needed to support project execution. This includes processing and tracking requisitions, following up on all orders, coordinating scheduled deliveries, and ensuring the field has the resources required to work efficiently while minimizing waste and excess material.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform skilled labor duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment, including but not limited to:
- Create and complete all PTPs (Pre-Task Plan) before starting work activities.
- Analyze and process requisitions using Kojo, Excel, or other authorized platforms, ensuring accuracy based on project needs.
- Follow up on all orders through phone, email, or vendor communication to confirm lead times and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate the planning and delivery of materials, tools, and equipment to job sites according to project priorities and specifications.
- Examine all received materials, verify part numbers, confirm quantities, and identify discrepancies such as damage, shortages, or unmarked items.
- Handle correspondence regarding over-shipments, shortages, freight claims, and return material authorizations (RMAs).
- Requisition heavy equipment rentals and maintenance service requests (e.g., forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts), including scheduling any required servicing of that equipment, only upon approval from the Superintendent.
- Conduct monthly assessments of jobsite tool and equipment inventory; remove or replace damaged tools and ensure optimal readiness in the field.
- Schedule and coordinate the return of all Tri-City tools, equipment, and rental items as the project nears completion.
- Locate, stage, and distribute materials to specified production areas in support of field operations.
- Ensure all materials, supplies, equipment, and related assets are received, logged, and tracked accurately within digital systems.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the work center and material storage areas as required.
- Adhere to all purchasing policies and procedures, including buyouts, documentation requirements, and material handling standards.
- Operate equipment as needed to perform assigned duties (boom lift, scissor lift, forklift, extended reach forklift, pallet jack, etc.).

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of basic mathematical operations and calculations (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, order of operations) to calculate labor, materials, and/or cost estimates for projects and work orders, etc.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Material Expediter or Electrician for an Electrical contracting company
- Basic knowledge of electrical construction material, including gear, fixtures, and commodity items
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Must possess a valid Florida driver's license in good standing to meet the company's driving requirements
- Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in the English language at a 12th-grade level

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This job operates in a construction job site environment and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions, or inside conditions.
- While performing this job's duties, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee may be occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites.
- Often exposed to loud sounds and noise levels as well as very bright or inadequate lighting conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
- Regular exposure to dirt, hazardous equipment, wiring, and underground and/or elevated heights.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day.
- Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
- Ability to wear company-approved Personal Protective Equipment per local, state, federal, or OSHA regulations.
- The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds.
- Requires the ability to perform physical duties listed above for extended periods.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
SCHEDULE AND REQUIRED TRAVEL:
- Requires the ability to report to job sites throughout Florida; locations vary depending on the individual's home location.
- May be requested to work overtime, nights, and weekends.
