Overview
AVIAN is searching for a candidate to join our team in support of AIRWorks. This position provides technical support to the Unmanned Mission Control Station (UMCS) AIRWorks Team focusing on MQ-25 Stingray UMCS architecture, analysis of models, verification of "as-built" Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DODAF) documentation, review of UMCS architecture implementation, and development of software/system design guidance.
The Architecture Engineer will review vendor contractual deliverables that address:
- Open Architecture (OA);
- MQ-25 Stingray UMCS system functionality;
- System interfaces;
- Software components focusing on OA requirements; and
- Computer System Configuration Items (CSCI) functional descriptions and alignment to DODAF Systems View (SV-6 interface definitions) as documented in the UMCS Integrated Architecture and Requirements Model (IARM).
Responsibilities
The Architecture Engineer will be responsible for the identification, adaptation, and implementation of standards to guide the software, hardware and interface design with a focus on communications, network, and avionics systems. The Architecture tasks include:
- Support the MQ-25/UMCS Program Office with review and update of existing standards such as Naval Interoperability Profile (NIOP), Open Mission Systems (OMS), and UAS Control Segment (UCS);
- Review and update of open architecture requirements in solicitation documents and specifications;
- Traceability of requirements to design documentation and standards.
- Functional decomposition of requirements manifested in information exchange components;
- Review contractor deliverables and documentation to ensure adherence to open architecture standards and applicable Interface Control Documents (ICD);
- Provide inputs into technical roadmaps;
- Coordination with the software test and integration lab for development of test process, cases and execution against design approaches;
- Prepare and review engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals and other technical documentation;
- Develop technical inputs to white papers, briefs and contractual language
- Assist UMCS team with Statements of Work (SOWs), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), and other documentation;
- Review of OA documentation and provide feedback on changes required based on discoveries
Qualifications
- Secret Clearance
- BA/BS degree in Engineering required
- Masters of Science in Engineering preferred
- Ability to communicate and adapt well in dynamic team environments
- Good organizational skills
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Desired familiarity and/or experience with:
- NAVAIR Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) events
- Cameo SysML
