Lochmueller Group is looking for a Stormwater & Hydraulics Project Manager to join our growing team. This will be a key role on our team providing project management and oversight on a variety of DOT and local agency infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a licensed professional engineer with strong project management, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Lochmueller Group is a regional engineering consulting firm with an emphasis on infrastructure.  We provide multi-disciplined services for a variety of public agencies and private entities, including transportation design; water resources design; environmental analysis & permitting; construction engineering & inspection; traffic engineering & transportation planning; surveying; and land acquisition & appraisal. Our transportation design team offers a variety of services, but most of our work involves roadway and bridge design for various local public agencies and state DOT’s.

In this position, the candidate will:

    • Work as a project manager with responsibility for DOT, municipal and local agency projects which may include small structure hydraulics, bridge hydraulics, bridge scour analysis, storm sewer design, detention design, and stormwater management.
    • May perform project management for multiple projects simultaneously. 
    • Regularly interact and coordinate with clients, designers, and other project stakeholders.
    • Build and lead cross-functional project teams assigning tasks to team members that may include engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
    • Oversee the work of project groups including engineers and/or technicians and perform QA/QC.
    • Ensure project designs are in conformance with the latest design specifications.
    • Perform design quantity computations and checks.
    • Plan, schedule, and coordinate the preparation of documents or activities for projects.
    • Provide mentorship to junior level staff.
    • Ensure compliance with various Federal, State, and local rules and regulations.
    • Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
    • Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of project assignments. 
    • Assist with proposals and/or funding applications. 
    • May perform other duties related to the role. 

Qualifications for this role:

    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or other applicable engineering field.
    • Professional Engineer (PE).
    • 8+ years of relevant experience working on transportation hydraulics and stormwater projects.
    • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Microstation, InRoads Drainage, Civil 3D, SWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, StormCAD, HY-8, TR-20, and/or other related software.
    • Experience with project management and accounting software.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
