Additional Compensation Details:
- $114k - $140k annual salary dependent on experience and the location of the role
- Potential 90-day performance-based raise

Responsibilities
The Role- Charlie’s Produce Trading Company Sales Manager
This role is responsible for leading a dynamic group of national produce sales professionals to achieve sales and margins goals for Charlie’s Produce Trading Company (CPTC). The Sales Manager has overview of sales activities ensuring that a well-coordinated product line is offered to our clients. This position requires a person who adapts well with shifting priorities who can work in a fast paced, closely configured work environment. The continued development of current client relationships as well as the building of new client relationships is highlighted responsibility of this role, and the right candidate will be passionate about relationship building. The Sales Manager will also be responsibility for annual business planning, sales and margin budgets and collaborate with the SVP of Procurement on new commodity programs and branded product programs to support sales goals.
Essential Responsibilities Include, but Not Limited To
- Identify, develop, and manage new account relationships through the direct customer contact and through the sales team.
- Initiate and present new sales ideas, sales strategies and implementation plans to the SVP of Procurement to keep the company market competitive and relevant.
- Collaborate with the sales team, marketing, R&D, and - the SVP of Procurement to continually develop business opportunities that enhance the company’s profitability and customer experience.
- Monitor the sales team performance by measuring KPIs; ie: volume, profit, distribution, pricing and expense management
- Facilitate and resolve customer relations issues.
- Manage, mentor, and guide the sales team to reach sales goals.
- Implement company strategies and initiatives.
- Provide sales reports and industry sales info to - the SVP of Procurement regularly.
- Manage the goals of the sales team and lead them through a combination of example and experience.
- P&L (Profit & Loss) management responsibilities for the sales department.
- Product development.
- Trend tracking through sales communications with vendors and clients.
- Researching and pricing for cost comparisons, supporting a continuous knowledge of the current product line.
- Further strengthen or advance the product line with customer needs or trend tracking.
- Partner with marketing to develop order guides.
- Consistent market analysis.
- Creation and demonstration of presentations to potential and existing clients and vendors.
- Work interdepartmentally with support teams, and leading initiatives to further focus on employee development and training.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years minimum of produce industry experience.
- 3+ years of experience minimum in sales management.
- Experience selling and buying for grower shippers preferred
- Proven track record in client development.
- A passion for exceeding customer services standards.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and Fresh Produce systems for selling and purchase order management.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Have a forward-thinking mindset that is driven to look at what is coming next.
- A successful track record in negotiations.
- Excellent multi-tasking, and time management skills with the understanding of how to flex priorities as needed.
- An advanced emotional intelligence and successful people management track record.
- Maintain an understanding of the ‘sense of urgency’ required for high paced sales success.
- High school diploma.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Associate’s degree or higher.
- 1+ year of produce sales software (preferably Retalix/AS400).
- 1+ year Tableau.
