MSA has an opportunity for a Senior Project Hydrogeologist at our Duluth, MN office. You will have the opportunity to plan, and contribute in, a variety of environmental projects in both Minnesota and Wisconsin from start to finish. Responsibilities
The work you will do
- Client liaison and project management responsibilities
- Assist in planning, coordinating and performing field activities including collecting soil and groundwater samples for environmental analysis
- Oversee activities including Underground Storage Tank removals, direct push soil and groundwater sampling, monitoring well installation and other field activities
- Conduct groundwater sampling activities according to State Regulatory Agency guidance using peristaltic pumps, submersible pumps and bailers
- Conduct soil gas, sub-slab and indoor air sampling according to State Regulatory Agency guidance
- Document field activities using field notes, sampling logs and photographs
- Conduct potable well sampling according to State Regulatory Agency guidance
- Conduct initial site visits to determine if Underground Storage Tanks are present
- Conduct Phase I Environmental Site Assessment site visits
Qualifications
What you bringSkills & Knowledge / Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in geology, hydrogeology, physical science with an emphasis in environmentalengineering or a related degree required
- 7+ years of previous environmental work experience is required
- Professional Geologist required
- Professional engineer preferred
- Knowledge of State Regulatory Agency guidance preferred
- Valid Driver’s license and the ability to travel with some overnight stays required
- This position requires you to have authorization to work in the United States for any employer. We will not provide sponsorship for this position.
