Position Summary
The Associate, Practice Development will partner with DMA’s business development and service teams to research companies, identify various property tax opportunities, and assist in scheduling prospective client meetings. This role is crucial in creating a positive first impression of DMA and driving new client acquisition. Initially, the Associate will undergo an apprenticeship working closely with DMA’s service teams to gain a comprehensive understanding of DMA’s products, services and internal systems. Upon mastering these systems, the Associate will transition into a full-time sales role, responsible for driving business within a designated market/region as directed by Practice Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal sales and service teams to identify new business opportunities and develop go-to-market strategies for acquiring new property tax clients.
- Thoroughly research and understand DMA’s various property tax services and initiatives and develop relationships with key DMA personnel to assist with selling such services.
- Assist with compiling, organizing, and analyzing assessment data in order to identify key talking points.
- Develop and maintain prospective client relationships and ensure quality client communication and satisfaction.
- Anticipate and prepare/deliver compelling responses to prospective client objections.
- Proactively target companies via outbound calls, emails, and social media to secure virtual and in-person business meetings.
- Maintain activity levels to ensure satisfaction of monthly goals and report monthly activity to management team.
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the business development team with research, projects and data management, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Strong interest in a long-term, client-facing business development career.
- Self-motivated with a proven track record of consistently meeting established goals.
- Must enjoy writing and have both excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Quick learner with the ability to retain and apply large amounts of information.
- Critical thinker capable of deciphering technical information to form valid talking points.
- Superb organizational skills.
- Strong listening and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
