ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will train and work in all areas of chosen department. Interns provide departmental support, including office duties and specific tasks, as assigned. It is necessary to gain knowledge of overall operations. Will communicate on a daily basis with customers, drivers, carriers, vendors, and inner office team members. Performs basic word processing or typing Assists with daily office operations Other duties as may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or equivalent. Currently enrolled in higher education program. Degree of study in related field a plus. Previous office experience preferred. Knowledge of the Trucking Industry a plus.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with others over-the-phone, through e-mail, and face to face. Potential to recognize when action is necessary and to implement the required actions within a reasonable time. Aptness to prioritize workflow. Time management skills a must. Ability to do mathematical calculations. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Capacity to learn programs unique to the trucking industry.
