SUMMARY

Fits and welds fabricated, cast and forged components to assembly by performing the following duties.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Fit up parts prior to weld.

·         MIG or TIG various parts in different material types.

·         Conduct dimensional inspections of parts and check quality requirements.

·         Personally, conduct all quality checks before moving to Quality Department.

·         Understand and interpret prints and technical drawings.

·         Grinding, sanding and cutting using a plasma cutter, as required.

·         Adhere to Lean Manufacturing initiatives, quality requirements and all safety programs.

·         Bluco

·         Advance position qualification (minimum 3G)

·         Multi-pass certification

·         Oxy/Fuel or Plasma

·         Robot Operator

·         Spot Weld

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

·         None

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

·         High school diploma or GED.

·         Demonstrated success is fit-up of parts to be welded.

·         Math and blueprint skills.

·         Self-starter, capable of completing task(s) with minimal supervision.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb or balance, and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as the ability to focus. .
