ABOUT THE JOB
As the HR Generalist based at our Fall River facility, you will be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and providing support to managers and employees. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, policy interpretation, recruitment/employment, and ensuring employment law compliance. In addition, assist with Workers Compensation, Risk and Safety, recruiting, and training. Perform ad-hoc reports, and general HR administrative responsibilities as it relates to HR Generalist work. This position will also support our Plymouth facility, and will be expected to be in Plymouth 1-2 days a week.
- Administer various human resource plans and procedures; assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; interpret and apply the employee handbook policies and procedures. Refer to ISO documents as they relate to human resources policies, forms, and procedures as well as the Employee Owner Reference Guidebook
- Monitor the performance evaluation program and work with department managers to ensure fair and equitable treatment regarding performance ratings. May monitor related salary increases to ensure they cohesively align with performance
- Communicate benefits information to employees; may refer complicated questions to Benefits Specialist
- Conduct Fall River facility recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees; may conduct new-employee orientations; write and place advertisements externally and internally; Run new and update job requisitions as needed; outreach for vets, women, and minorities
- Answer employee questions, liaison with managers and make recommendations when required
- Handle employee relations counseling to managers & employees, Records of Conversation and Written Warnings, and document as required
- Participate in staff meetings; assist with ad-hoc projects
- Assist in the evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of the department in relation to established goals; turnover analysis. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve the efficiency of the department and services performed
- May enter new hire information into Paycom; process new hire documents in a timely manner; assist with FMLA & ADA Claims
- Assist with Safety & Training programs; First Aid, Cintas, Job Hazard Analysis, Worker’s Comp Loss Run reports
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- A Bachelor's degree and three to five years of HR experience or any similar combination of education and experience
- Experience with HR software, HRIS, and payroll databases
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects
- Strong phone, email, written, and in-person communication skills
- Strong ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Provide excellent customer service; respectful and timely completion of requests and associated tasks
