Responsibilities
Our ideal candidate will apply their knowledge of engineering principles to research, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test or evaluate systems. As a Mission Systems flight test engineer, you will plan, develop, execute, and repot on the flight test of all CH-53K systems installed or integrated ito the aircraft, with emphasis on the avionics and electrical systems. This position allows you to put your engineering experience to use performing functions such as system integration, design, configuration management, quality assurance testing or acquisition and resource management.
Job Functions:
- Develop test plans for execution of currently installed avionics hardware and associated software.
- Develop test plans for execution of new, upgraded, or obsolescence replacement, hardware to be integrated into the CH-53K aircraft.
- Develop test plans for execution of software upgrades for the avionics systems installed or integrated into the CH-53K aircraft.
- Execute and/or support the execution of all ground and flight test on the CH-53K aircraft, focusing on, but not limited to the avionics and electrical systems.
- Participate in troubleshooting issues with avionics and electrical systems to support test and execution.
- Research and provide details of the avionics and electrical systems, and the interactions with other systems on the aircraft.
- Generate reporting of testing; for example, post-test daily reports, Watch Items (WI), Deficiency Reports (DR), Test Engineering Data Report (TEDR), Interim Summary Report (ISR), Report of Test Results (RTR), etc.
- Review and be familiar with documented WIs, DRs, and Sikorsky Inquiry Reports (SIR).
- Perform other duties as needed and directed by the Mission Systems Lead Engineer
Education Requirements:
Bachelor of Science (BS) in an engineering discipline, computer science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or engineering from an accredited college or university. Preference for Electrical Engineer.
Experience:
- Minimum tens years of experience in aviation flight test and evaluation, rotorcraft preferred.
- Desired Experience
- Knowledge of principles and processes for test plannin, preparation, and execution.
- knowledge of the custmer need and proactively providing he products or services to achieve customer satisfaction
- Skill in critical thinking-using logic and reasoning to identify issues, determine possible causes, and develop paths for resolution of problems.
- Skill in effective communctions- the ability to provide timely, knowledgeable, and concise information to report he status or progress of tasking and testing; or recommendations when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
- Ability to successfully move into problem solving mode when challenges or concerns arise.
- Ability to create and be part of a team environment
