Operations Manager
Summary: Ensure the successful the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, production department and company logistics. Supervise and direct the workflow of DOT drivers, Production & Warehouse employees to ensure the seamless flow of product to our dealers.
Duties:
- Manages the operations of the warehouse.
- Develops, plans, directs, and assigns duties for logistics and warehouse personnel; weekly schedules; and authorizes overtime as necessary.
- Recruits, hires, and trains employees; conducts safety orientations and meetings; assures established policies and procedures are followed.
- In charge of compliance with company policies and federal DOT regulations.
- Maintains Records in the company E-Log system (Pedigree) ensure drivers are up to date.
- Directs the warehouse workflow to ensure accurate and timely filling of orders and prompt receiving.
- Creates and manages profitable truck routes. Utilize and monitor GPS.
- Reconcile paperwork for Driver expense reimbursement.
- Back up driver using straight truck.
- Oversees Walk-in and Will Call and maintains scheduled coverage.
- Creates handling batch prints and sort load reports as they print.
- Responsible ensuring accurate Bill of Ladings.
- Coordinate order fulfillment between company, dealers, suppliers, and transport companies.
- Coordinate the use of automated and computerized warehouse systems.
- Organizes cycle counts and research discrepancies in counts for all warehouse locations.
- Determine the most cost-effective method of delivery: FGP trucks or common carrier. Notify delays of delivery as needed.
- Manages operating costs and increasing productivity.
- Ensure returns are handled properly and are in re-saleable condition.
- Manages all workflow between the production shops and inside sales.
- Assists in maintaining all production equipment.
- Setup for vendor shows & training days.
- Lawn Maintenance
- Snow Removal
- Building Maintenance (heaters in warehouse, filters in the offices, restrooms)
Education Requirements
Position requires 5-7 years of driving, warehouse, loading, receiving or related experience. The ability to always operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner and able to work under minimal supervision, manage multiple tasks, and interact with others in a professional manner. Strong verbal skills with an attitude of professional problem-solving customer focused at times under pressure and be detail oriented with strong organizational, negotiating, and problem-solving skills. Applicant must have their medical card and a full compliance of DOT standards. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, computers, and various computer programs. Previous experience in the building/construction industry is preferred and knowledge of Warehouse Management Computer Systems.
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
