Job Summary
The Control Engineer will work with a multi-disciplinary group of engineers, designers, and drafters providing technical services to public and private sector clients. They will work on industrial applications related to process manufacturing, aerospace, chemical processing, and municipalities. The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial and self-motivated. The Responsibilities
- Supporting control systems testing, equipment commissioning, field testing and system acceptance including operational readiness testing.
- Setting up industrial communication protocols and VFD configuration.
- PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA system planning, designing, programming, and upgrading.
- Developing drawings and specifications for construction including network communication block diagrams, control panel details, wiring termination diagrams, instrument location plans, and instrument installation details.
- Equipment selecting, cost estimating, and equipment layout.
- On-call (after hours and weekends) support of major public infrastructure and transportation.
The Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, and 5 years of experience, with 1 year of field experience. In lieu of a college degree, additional experience will be considered.
- Working knowledge of piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and motor control schematics.
- Demonstrated ability using Ethernet and control system communication protocols.
- Experience with Rockwell, Wonderware, and similar PLC/HMI software.
- Travel up to 25% of the year may be required.
- A registered professional engineer is preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
The expected salary range for the position is displayed below. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
Salary range: $90,000 - $110,000
