Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate formulation activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment
- Review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications and operating or production problems
- Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality
- Interview, hire, and train employees
- Manage safety programs including adherence to food safety guidelines
- Revise production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems
- Consult with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products
- Supervise shift Coordinators of formulation departments
- Enforce safety regulations
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems
- Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments
- Analyze and resolve personnel and disciplinary issues with employees
- Keep written documentation regarding all personnel and disciplinary issues
- Conduct performance evaluations for all employees a minimum of once annually
- Perform activities of workers supervised
- Responsibility to adhere to Food Safety policies and report food safety and quality concerns to their supervisor
- Other activities and duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED TO PERFORM WORK:
- Education: Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
- Experience: Trained and experienced in formulating recipes and operating formulating machinery preferred
- Experience: Minimum of two years of leadership experience
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Write routine reports and correspondence
- Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Compute basic mathematical calculations, rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to read, comprehend instructions, and write correspondence
- Capable of presenting information in one-on-one and group situations to other employees in the organization
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Read and interpret Machinery / SOP manuals
- Ability to multi-task, working in fast-paced environment
- Must have strong verbal and written communications skills with ability to express ideas effectively and efficiently
- Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships with all contacts inside and outside of the company
- Ability to meet attendance requirements
