The Sr. Technical Accounting & Project Manager will be a key member of the Corporate Accounting team at ConMet’s headquarters and will report to our Corporate Controller. This role will be involved in many aspects of the finance department including general ledger, internal controls, SOX compliance, internal and external audits and will support a variety of unique business transactions. This position provides support related to financial/transactional accounting for multiple facilities.
This role requires working in an office environment (not hybrid or remote) at ConMet's corporate headquarters in Vancouver, Washington. Non-local candidates must be open to relocation (relocation assistance available).
Key Duties
- Perform technical accounting research on a wide variety of business transactions. Assess impact to organization, formulate recommendations and communicate accounting implications to business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with various business functions and teams to ensure seamless M&A execution and integration. Conduct and coordinate due diligence on potential transactions. Support analysis of potential transactions.
- Assist in drafting and updating accounting policies. Provide training and education on accounting policies to the organization.
- Assist in maintaining, establishing and documenting effective internal controls and procedures.
- Lead the SOX compliance program which includes internal reviews, self-testing, internal and external audit requests.
- Coordinate and/or support internal and external audit processes.
- Assist in the review of monthly general ledger reconciliations. Investigate and clear noted reconciling differences.
- Assist in preparation and review of financial statement disclosures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Solid knowledge base of US GAAP.
- Minimum 10+ years of professional work experience in accounting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Some domestic and/or international travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA.
- Experience with SAP or other major ERP system.
- Experience in a global manufacturing environment.

Compensation & Benefits
- New hires generally start between $97,914 - $139,877.
- The full salary range for the position, across all geographies is, $97,914 - $167,853 per year. The upper portion of the salary range is typically reserved for existing employees who demonstrate strong performance over time. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience.
- Targeted annual bonus is based on company performance to objectives during the fiscal plan year which runs from October 1 – September 30.
