Job Description
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License, Class A license and be able to successfully demonstrate the ability to meet all DOT and company driving requirements
- Minimum of 3 years commercial road driving experience
- Prior experience with on board computers such as Xata system preferred
- Ability to travel to 6 states (PA, MD, DE, VA, NJ, NY)
- Ability to stay overnight if necessary
- Must know and understand OSHA regulations
- Must be able to pull 250 pounds repeatedly and must be able to lift up to 70 pounds
- Must be able to perform the following physical behaviors frequently throughout a shift: sitting, standing, walking, climbing up and down, handling crates and other packages, reaching horizontally, reaching above the shoulder, reaching below the waist, grasping firmly, pushing buttons, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling and pushing.
- Ability to maneuver the load through doorways, up and down steps, or down narrow aisles inside the location
Primary Duties:
- Performs DOT certified pre-trip inspection
- Transports freight to multiple stops within scheduled delivery time
- Selects the proper products from the load inside the trailer or straight truck
- Unloads products from truck and transports them into the proper location within the delivery location
- Loads empty milk crates back onto the truck for transportation back to the dairy warehouse.
- Uses a hand truck or a milk hook to push or pull (up to 6 crates high) of full and empty milk crates from the gate of the trailer or truck into the designated delivery area (distance varies).
- Performs DOT certified post-trip inspection. Reports back to Dispatch at the conclusion of work shift.
- Provides exemplary customer service
