OverviewHighlight seeks a Small Business Events and Outreach Coordinator with strong organizational skills to support the Small business Education and Entrepreneurial Development (SEED) program that coordinates early-stage product development activities across the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Responsibilities - Provide general administrative assistance.
- Coordinate event opportunities for small businesses.
- Coordinate travel schedules of SEED executives and partners.
- Assist events by coordinating the schedules of speakers, their presentations, biographies, etc.
- Facilitate meetings/webinars, record and provide technical support for in-person and virtual events.
- Manage the publication of SEED’s Email Digest.
- File administrative and event tracking information.
- Assist in the creation of website updates, newsletter blurbs, meeting agendas, announcements, and e-mail messages.
- Take meeting minutes and provide follow-up messages/actions after meetings.
- Serve as a professional, well-spoken face for the team.
- Be able to pick things up quickly.
- Experience with Zoom and the ability to provide some minor video editing a plus.
- May be called upon to assist with projects outside of his or her main duties as necessary and appropriate.
Qualifications- Minimum of two years of communications experience that demonstrates excellent organizational, writing, communications, and technical skills.
- A bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Business, or Communications preferred.
- Strong oral and written skills.
- Familiarity with Excel, Zoom, and project planning software.
- Focused and motivated self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working on multiple projects with deadline pressures and competing priorities.
- Instructional Design and meeting facilitation a plus.
