Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Accounting, the Accounting / Administrative Support position is responsible for providing financial and administrative support services. The primary duties include maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and managing accounts payables and receivables. This role also may be responsible for reconciling accounts, administering employee paperwork, and assisting the management within the branch location. All work is coordinated with the guidance of the accounting processes from headquarters.


Essential Functions

  • Generate and send out invoices to customers.
  • Process and record payments from customers.
  • Manage accounts payables and accounts receivables.
  • Manage aged accounts to minimalize receivable balances.
  • Reconcile GL accounts, customer accounts, and bank accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end processes.
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements.
  • Generate reports for tracking expenses and income.
  • Assist with budgeting.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies on accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting regulations.
  • Deadline driven work during specific accounting cycles.
  • Occasionally assist with administrative office duties (i.e.: answering phone, providing office support, and participation in events and committees).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to spend long periods of time sedentary at the desk or workstation.
  • Ability to operate computer systems and other standard office equipment.
  • Occasionally climb stairs.
  • Occasionally lifting and carrying objects (up to 20 pounds).
  • Working in quiet to moderately noisy environments, normal for office spaces within warehouse environments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Successfully pass drug test screenings throughout employment.
  • Proficient with financial software applications.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to analyze and reconcile financial data.
  • Ability to interpret and explain accounting policies and procedures.

Education

High school diploma, or equivalent evidence of educational proficiency at the high school level.


Experience

1 – 2 years of accounting experience.

Salary Description
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour DOE
