Responsibilities
Provide professional services for civil engineering projects to include design, plans, specifications, reports, project budgets, scope of work, permits, contracts, schedules, estimates, and coordination of sub-consultants and contractors
Provide professional services for the design and construction of water supply and distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and water/wastewater treatment facilities
Work within multi-discipline projects that include civil, electrical, and architectural aspects
Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work
Assist Project Manager in maintaining budgets and schedules of project assignments and in maintaining quality client relationships and communication
Coordinate, facilitate, and attend internal and external meetings
Provide guidance to junior engineers, technicians, and other project team members
Gather critical data to assist clients with project financing and funding development
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
Ability to travel as required for business development and project/client responsibilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook
Ability to effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
Maintain stellar reputation for integrity, fairness, reliability, good judgement and aptitude among peers, management, and staff
All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or 5 years of related consulting experience
Registration as a Professional Engineer ideal or ability to obtain within 3 months
Proficient with Civil 3D, ESRI Products, and/or hydraulic or process modeling software
Design work and knowledge with water supply, water resources, drinking water and wastewater treatment and collection systems, utility planning, and other municipal vertical and horizontal infrastructure
Experience leading both internal initiatives and external projects
Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
Physical Qualifications
Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain
Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight
May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds
Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear
May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload
May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town
