Amsted Automotive Cold Form and Finishing division is looking for an Automation Technician to support the production team with all existing and new inspection equipment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The successful candidate would collaborate with the engineering and production teams to deliver consistent process adherence in this critical step. The equipment supported will be but not limited to a combination of 100% inline inspection and offline sample gages. 

The role’s natural progression will be working hand in hand to develop future state technologies to maintain our competitive edge in the industry.

Activities include but are not limited to:

  •  Setting up inspection equipment according to predefined standard procedures
  •  Troubleshooting faults and providing feedback to relevant teams
  •  Drive continuous improvement to improve the performance/reliability of equipment
  •  Support the engineering team in the integration and development of inspection equipment

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  •  3+ years working in an automotive manufacturing environment
  •  Mechanical/Electrical work experience
  •  Contact/non-contact gages
  •  Eddy current inspection
  •  Vision applications (convention, OCR & AI)
  •  Laser marking/etching
  •  Material handling
  •  Pneumatic actuators, variety of sensors, drives etc.
  •  PLC/Smart relays
  •  Problem solving techniques with an analytical approach
  •  Quality systems related to measurement devices (MSA studies etc.)
  • Ability to communicate, written and verbal, across all levels of an organization

  • Driven, self-motivated and resilient
  • Adaptability and open to continuous learning and development 
  • Critical and analytical thinking for effective problem solving
  • High attention to detail
