We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our K-12, Higher Education & Public Sector team. This team provides MEP design, construction administration, troubleshooting, and creative solutions to unique demands within the State Government, Local Government, and Educational (K-12 and Higher Education) construction environment. This position is responsible for researching, planning, designing, and controlling elements of multiple client projects; will oversee workload planning, staffing and coordination of project delivery; manage client relationships; and enable profitability and company growth. This position provides exciting opportunities in both management and technical project execution; this role will have the opportunity to expand the footprint of an existing successful team in the marketplace while serving as the Lead Mechanical Engineer on many of the team’s projects. The ideal candidate will contribute to this growth through successful project execution as well as representation of the team in the regional market. This role is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico and has a flexible hybrid work schedule.
The ideal candidate will have significant expertise in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, General Administration, and Marketing and Business Development:
Mechanical Engineering
- Work with the team’s technical support staff to develop mechanical system designs for new construction and renovation projects primarily in the public sector (K-12, higher education, local, state, and county government)
- Provide mechanical support for projects throughout the design and construction administration phases
- Attend project site visits and meetings as needed for project development, design reviews, and construction administration
Project Management
- Oversee project management activities for a portfolio of multiple projects
- Support the completion of the billing process, collection of client billings, and other operational and financial matters
- Assist senior management and Project Managers in Quality Assurance and Quality Control of all engineering work within the team
- May act as the senior contact for key clients and/or key projects
General Administration
- Build and maintain client satisfaction with EEA’s delivery of services for the work being produced under their influence
- Mentor, lead, and develop staff of Employee Owners
- Assist in workload management for team staff members
- Assist senior management with annual Employee Owner performance evaluations
- Provide support and motivation to their team as well as act as a mentor to employees, thus, creating a great place to work
Marketing and Business Development
- Develop strategies to maintain existing clients as well as establish strong relationships with new clients
- Maintain an active role in professional client‐ and industry-related activities
- Supervise the preparation of proposals in coordination with Project Managers and the Marketing staff
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- 10+ years of experience in the MEP consulting industry, preferably in public sector and education projects
- Professional Engineer License in New Mexico, or NCEES record with ability to obtain licensure in other states
- Experience managing the MEP project workflow from defining requirements to issuing deliverables
- Experience overseeing project management activities of all team members under their supervision
- Familiarity with other engineering disciplines and architecture
- Excellent multi-tasking capabilities across multiple projects coupled with exceptional communication and client relationship-building skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail on various projects
- Working knowledge of building codes, design specifications, and construction administration
- Successful management of large and complex projects

- The salary range for this position is $110,000-$130,000 but can fluctuate depending on years of experience and skill set
