About This Opportunity
We are seeking an Engineer II with Energy Efficiency and Retro-commissioning (RCx) experience. In this role, you will work directly with our clients to assess their operations and identify opportunities for maximizing energy efficiency and performance in industrial and/or commercial facilities. The Engineer II takes a consultative role, gathers data, creates optimization models of industrial and/or commercial systems and writes feasibility reports for energy efficiency projects, while leading overall management of projects. The Engineer II will also contribute to peer support and quality control review.

What You Will Be Doing
- Project leadership & peer support: Lead projects with overall management, direction, and accountability, and support peers through technical discussions and work review.
- Energy-savings analysis: Calculate energy savings for system/equipment changes using established tools, spreadsheets, and accepted methodologies.
- On-site client engagement & efficiency opportunities: Work with clients at industrial sites to understand equipment/operations and identify energy-efficiency opportunities.
- Client relationship growth & business development: Strengthen client relationships and identify opportunities to generate additional work with current clients.
- Technical communication, documentation & compliance: Explain complex technical topics to diverse audiences, produce energy-efficiency reports, collect/document performance data (including data loggers), and maintain strong knowledge of utility programs and compliance requirements.
This is a full-time, exempt position, with no office requirement, but candidate must live in one of the following states: NY, MA, CT, PA, RI, NH, VT, or ME. Travel for this role is anticipated to be about 20% and candidates must be open to traveling to work sites and have an easy commute to an airport.
Qualifications
Applicants for this role are required to have:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field of study
- 1 – 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in energy or energy related fields
- Technical knowledge of refrigeration, compressed air systems, steam systems, custom computer modeling of systems, electrical distribution system design, industrial control and data-logging of system results
- Experience in energy efficiency in commercial and/or industrial facilities
- Experience doing retro-commissioning (RCx)
- Experience with Strategic Energy Management (SEM)

Compensation & Benefits
The full salary range for this full-time, exempt position as a National Average for an Engineer II is: $77,400 (min) - $96,800 (mid) - $116,200 (max).
