Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and results-driven Director of Business Development to join the growing team with Bender Insurance Solutions. The Director of Business Development plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets for the organization. This position involves leading and managing a team of sales professionals; and developing and implementing effective business development strategies to meet or exceed those targets while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Planning:

  •    Collaborate with the Board of Directors and President to set the department's vision and develop a strategic plan.
  •    Provide strategic insights to the executive team for informed decision-making.

Department Management:

  •    Lead recruitment and cross-selling initiatives for business development. 
  •    Ensure budget adherence and maintain competitive compensation structures.

Employee Management:

  •    Implement differentiation strategy and monitor staff performance. 
  •    Coordinate training and ensure compliance with agency procedures.

Community and Committee Participation:

  •    Engage in industry associations for lead generation and training. 
  •    Participate in management committees and support educational initiatives. 


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or equivalent degree and 3 years’ experience in agency business development or 7 years’  agency business development experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ commercial insurance experience including strong knowledge of new business placement terminology, concepts and coverage
  • Experience managing at least 5 or more employees
  • Hold a Property and Casualty Agents/Brokers License in good standing
  • Familiarity with agency management systems and adaptability to new software programs and technological changes
