The Director of Business Development plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and achieving sales targets for the organization. This position involves leading and managing a team of sales professionals; and developing and implementing effective business development strategies to meet or exceed those targets while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors and President to set the department's vision and develop a strategic plan.
- Provide strategic insights to the executive team for informed decision-making.
Department Management:
- Lead recruitment and cross-selling initiatives for business development.
- Ensure budget adherence and maintain competitive compensation structures.
Employee Management:
- Implement differentiation strategy and monitor staff performance.
- Coordinate training and ensure compliance with agency procedures.
Community and Committee Participation:
- Engage in industry associations for lead generation and training.
- Participate in management committees and support educational initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or equivalent degree and 3 years’ experience in agency business development or 7 years’ agency business development experience
- Minimum 5 years’ commercial insurance experience including strong knowledge of new business placement terminology, concepts and coverage
- Experience managing at least 5 or more employees
- Hold a Property and Casualty Agents/Brokers License in good standing
- Familiarity with agency management systems and adaptability to new software programs and technological changes
