ABOUT THE ROLE
Amsted Automotive Group - Piston Pin Facility is looking for a full time Junior Heat Treat Technician to perform duties to set-up and operate all heat treat equipment. This is a full time position on one of our off shifts. Training on all 3 shifts will be required.
Work is performed in a typical manufacturing environment with exposure to several elements continuously present including heat, dirt, grease, oils, fluids and noise.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Independently operate and set-up all heat treat equipment.
- Monitor process data and react accordingly.
- Notify technician of any variation of process set points as they occur.
- Fill out job tickets completely and accurately.
- Follow schedule order of production runs.
- Assist production manager/team leaders in maintaining proper work flow.
- Assist technicians in troubleshooting all technical problems.
- Correct minor production problems as they arise.
- Maintain quality of production.
- Perform necessary recordkeeping and paperwork.
- Help train and assist operators as required.
- Seek help if problems arise and ask questions if you don’t understand.
- Perform necessary preventative maintenance on machines as required.
- Participate in team problem solving as part of the departmental continuous improvement process.
- Use various testing devices and chemicals according to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
- Perform material handling activities using equipment, including forklifts, according to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
- Follow all safety rules and keep work area clean and in an orderly condition.
- Wear all personal protective equipment as required by the safety policy.
- Understand and performs ISO 14001 work instructions as identified in, “ISO 14001 Work Instruction Assignments”.
- Be responsible and accountable for the professional use of assigned work periods, machinery equipment and tools.
- Understand and perform to the BN Quality Policy taking pride in the products produced.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Previous manufacturing experience.
- Experience in heat treat operations is preferred.
- Forklift experience.
- Manual dexterity, visual acuity, mental alertness.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds occasionally.
