Job Summary

Our Project Developer will be responsible for providing leadership, management, and direction to project teams, ensuring the successful outcomes of our design-build construction projects. They will find and negotiate Design-Build projects, serving as the primary point of contact and relationship manager with clients throughout the entire project life cycle. Additionally, they will develop and maintain networks of past customers, influencers, and others to procure work, market and promote Bobbitt’s capabilities, provide guidance and mentorship to Preconstruction Managers, strategize sales, and offer communication and financial management support to the Operations team during construction. The Project Developer is ultimately accountable for the success of the project from negotiation through construction completion.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Qualify Opportunities & Acquire New Projects
  • Find, navigate, negotiate, and sell Design-Build services.
  • Create and execute an annual sales action plan with goals to be achieved; work with BD team to win projects.
  • Create and execute presentations.
  • Build & maintain influencer network; actively participate in assigned Community Engagement activities.
  • Lead a Go/NoGo presentation to determine project viability.
  • Update and Maintain CRM information in a timely manner.
  • Customer Satisfaction (internal/external):
  • Communicate with customers throughout the process, creating memorable moments and experiences.
  • Create and explain contracts; ensure proper execution of contracts and agreements.
  • Review designs and estimates with clients.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project and maintain relationships beyond project completion.
  • Project Leader
  • Ensure team & client understand the scope and project plan.
  • Ensure team members understand a customer’s project vision.
  • Create, utilize, and maintain preconstruction schedules with input from design and construction.
  • Create and utilize project execution plans throughout preconstruction.
  • Follow Bobbitt project process plan for each project.
  • Utilize Procore Tools for all project information.
  • Maintain project documents (Schedule, Project Execution Plan, Win Messaging Plan, etc.)
  • Run OAC meetings in Preconstruction and support OPS team during construction OAC meetings.
  • Maintain & distribute records of meetings.
  • Ensure margin targets are achieved on projects.
  • Follow up with customers 30-60 days after completion of construction for walk-through/feedback.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Develop a strategy for self-improvement/professional development.
  • Be involved in chamber/non-profit boards and committees for leadership development, networking, and community service.

  • Follow Safety requirements and ID safety concerns to design and construction early in projects.
  • Proactively communicate; provide information early and often.

  • Design Build Subject Matter Expert

Required Knowledge, Experience & Competencies

  • Five years of experience working with commercial construction projects.
  • Advanced time management and organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects.
  • Advanced negotiation, listening and customer service skills.
  • Advanced written, oral, and technical communication skills.
  • Prior experience as an effective team leader or project team leader
  • Ability to close sales and drive projects from preconstruction to completion.

Preferred Knowledge, Experience & Competencies

  • Prior sales experience in Commercial Construction
  • Prior experience working on Design-Build Projects
  • Procore Certified
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Project or similar project software

Work Format

This position requires team collaboration and presence at in-person meetings and is best suited to a traditional work schedule. Occasional remote work is acceptable.

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional travel (10-15%) to meetings and events, typically within a 100-mile radius of the office.
  • Occasional travel to various job site locations as needed for photography or milestone events.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to see well (naturally or with correction).
