Ames is looking for Operators who are safe, efficient, highly skilled, and productive operatosafe, efficient, highly skilled, and productive Operatorsrs to join our team. In this role, you will operate large machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, loaders, and haul trucks for construction, mining, and civil engineering projects. Your responsibilities will include site preparation, excavation, road building, and material transportation, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machinery, safety protocols, and project specifications. Previous experience and relevant certifications are required. Basic Employment Requirements
- Be committed to working safely and to wearing all of the required safety equipment.
- Report any unsafe conditions or acts to your immediate supervisor
- Pass a Pre-employment Drug Screen and Alcohol Test. Free of medication that may limit or alter the ability to operate equipment in a safe manner
- Be able to read and understand Safety and Employment requirements
- Be dependable, and consistent about attendance and punctuality
- Willing and able to work extended hours, and possible nights and weekends as required
- Tolerate temperature extremes and changing job site conditions (rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.)
- Be committed to helping achieve a 100% no-accident work area
- Be committed to supporting the team in achieving achievinghieve its production goals at any assigned task
- Maintain a professional attitude while learning each task and take constructive criticism as a motivation to learn
- The Arizona region will require joining and maintaining membership in the local operators' union.
- Looking for operators proficient in both new and older models of equipment and familiar with or proficient in Trimble GPS.
Minimum Physical Requirements
- Have a full range of motion with neck, back, and hands, and exert muscle force repeatedly or continuously
- Have vision at 20/40 with or without corrective lenses
- Have the ability to hear at an average level with or without hearing devices
- Be able to climb in/out of equipment without assistance
- Be able to walk on uneven surfaces, very rocky terrain, and steep areas
- Be able to twist, stoop, and bend while maintaining sure-footedness and balance
- Spend about 80% of your time in motion while operating equipment
- This is a ‘safety-sensitive position’ which means a position in which an impairment caused by drug or alcohol usage would threaten the health or safety of any person
Essential Job Skills
- Operate the Track Equipment in all phases of operations, during normal conditions, night conditions, adverse weather, and emergencies; including hand and foot controls
- Perform routine maintenance, and watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure working properly
- Exercise good judgment about the safety and health of you and others
- Accurately complete and understand the paperwork necessary for this job
- Be organized and able to execute verbal and written instructions
- Be able to work with others and also work independently on assigned tasks
- Maintain good housekeeping in equipment, transport vans, vehicles, and work area at all times
