Make an Impact 

As an Electrical Engineer II, you will support the electrical engineering discipline by developing design concepts and creating accurate and complete documentation for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security systems and communications in all phases within the established design principles, project budget and schedule for national clients. This role entails collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team, including architects, interior designs, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and civil engineers. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior staff through providing technical design expertise and assistance during the various phases of projects. 

Deliver Results 

  • Coordinate the work of the electrical design team through the schematic, design development, and construction document phase of a project. 
  • Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance. 
  • Use design software/technology, including Revit, AutoCAD, BSD Spec Link, Elum Tools or Visual Lighting Software, Easy Power and other emerging technologies for presentation and production purposes.
  • Assist in the preparation of building models, detailed contract documents, construction documents, photometric simulations, arc flash and specifications consistent with Progressive AE’s standards.  Prepare building models and detailed contract documents.
  • Coordinate technical components of projects with other internal disciplines and outside consultants to ensure that conflicts do not exist in the documents. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET-accredited program or equivalent in education and experience required for professional licensure.   
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with current license.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional electrical engineering experience with a wide variety of project types.
  • Strong knowledge of Revit and/or AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • NCEES registration and NSPE membership.  
  • CSI-CDT certification.
  • LEED AP BD+C and/or WELL AP certification.
  • Experience in Arc Flash Studies utilizing software for simulations.
  • Proficiency in Elum Tools or Visual Lighting Software and Easy Power.
  • Experience in Microsoft Project, SharePoint, and Teams.
