Summary:
- The Asphalt Plant Operations Manager oversees safety, production, scheduling and maintenance functions of 1 asphalt plant.
- Operations Manager will provide leadership in safety, quality, staff scheduling and improving plant efficiency.
- The position will report to and work closely with the General Superintendent, Paving Superintendent, and Division Manager on daily plant operations, maintenance and capital expenditures planning.
- Lead with Safety and promote a safe working environment.
- Achieve organizational goals
- Responsible for the efficiency of the entire operation of the asphalt plants.
- Maintains continuous dialogue and communication with the Plant Manager/Operator’s as needed to keep them apprised of the status of safety, quality, production, schedules, loads, problems and opportunities available to maximize efficient operations and to enhance the overall operations of the company plant operations.
- Maintains open, candid and continuous communications with personnel from Plant Managers/Operators to laborers and equipment operators
- Manage, direct, plan and coordinate maintenance projects and capital improvements
- Determine effect of production changes on plant operations. Acts to adjust capacities (labor and/or equipment) to meet production requirements.
- Review plant-operating practices insuring that safety, quality and production standards are maintained/enhanced.
- Assure appropriate working climate by maintaining proper discipline, morale and employee relations.
- Participate in planning and/or decision making in matters concerning financial and operational problems, inventory control, plant policy, Facility/Maintenance issues and staffing.
- Develops preventive maintenance plans.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Two or more years of Asphalt Plant Operations in an asphalt plant management capacity, ideal but not required
- Strong working knowledge of asphalt plant operations, equipment, and controls
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and strong computer skills
