Assistant Project Manager / Engineer in Training - Williston, ND
Utilizing knowledge in the field of Civil/Environmental Engineering, the Assistant Project Manager/Engineer in Training will coordinate all technical aspects as assigned by Project Manager which may include pipelines, storage tanks, pump stations, treatment systems, rural water, and municipal facilty projects. This position offers an excellent opportunity to those looking to grow in the field and gain experience towards becoming a Project Manager.
Responsibilities
Assistant Project/Client Management
- Assist Project Manager with development and preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates and ensure timely completion of projects.
- Perform construction observation and administration on water and municipal related projects.
- Assist professional surveyors with field work on crews performing data gathering for designs or construction staking.
- Assist with client program management (board development and/or administration, financial management).
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and overseeing project activities within assigned projects to include timely follow up reporting and budget oversight.
- Management of assigned engineers and technicians (this will include management of senior engineers with more experience).
- Planning, study and technical report generation.
- Detailed design review coordination and oversight (between design team, owner, and/or government agencies.
- Construction administration (project status report, change order, and pay request oversight).
- Responsible for client satisfaction and the financial performance of projects.
Business Development Assistance
- Assist Group Managers with identification of target markets and strategies to secure clients and/or projects.
- Assist with implementation of business plan strategies.
- Assist with maintenance of personal relationships with key staff of client organizations.
- Coordinate and monitor client contact plans and maintain client relationship management plan.
- Represent AE2S at regional and national conferences.
- Ocassional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload.
- Occasional travel to off-site locations including occassional overnight stays out of town.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to travel as required
- 3+ years civil engineering experience related to municipal and rural water projects
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Fundamentals in Engineering certified or ability to obtain in 12-18 months preferred
- AutoCAD or Civil 3D experience
