About This Opportunity

We are seeking an Energy Efficiency Engineer II

The Project Engineer (PE) assesses client operations and identifies opportunities for maximizing energy efficiency and performance in industrial systems. This role may involve exposure to clients at their site. With assistance from peers and management, the PE takes a consultative role, gathers data, creates optimization models of industrial systems and writes feasibility reports for energy efficiency projects, while managing assigned projects. The PE contributes to peer support and quality control review.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Assist with the management, direction, and accountability on assigned projects.
  • Calculate energy savings for various system or equipment changes using existing calculation tools, original spreadsheets, and/or generally accepted methodologies.
  • Engage with clients at their industrial locations to fully understand their equipment and operations and identify opportunities for energy efficiency.
  • Foster and grow client relationships and identify opportunities for generating additional work from current clients.
  • Discuss technical issues with a diverse audience in a way that facilitates understanding and agreement. Assist with composing energy efficiency project reports based on analyses and observations.
  • Document performance through data collection from customer sources or via installed data logging equipment.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of utility programs and their compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to peers through technical discussions and work review

 

This is a full-time, exempt position located within reasonable commute to Boise, Idaho, or Twin Falls, Idaho.

20% travel is anticipated for this role.  Travel is mostly day trips with occasional overnight trip.

Qualifications

Applicants for this role are required to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field of study
  • Minimum 3 years of energy engineering experience
  • Technical competency of any of the following industrial systems: pumps, fans, boilers, industrial refrigeration, compressed air systems, steam systems, custom computer modeling of systems, electrical distribution system design, industrial control and data logging of system results.

Compensation & Benefits

Our total rewards include competitive pay and excellent benefits. These include health (90% paid for team member, 70% paid for dependents on HDHP plans and 85% paid for team member, 65% paid for dependents on PPO plans),  vision, FSA or HSA options with an employer contribution, life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, paid parental leave, 401k retirement plan with a guaranteed 3% contribution, Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP), annual cash performance bonus, paid vacation, sick time, and an inclusive, flexible paid holiday policy. New for 2024 – we are excited to add an additional wellbeing contribution of $500 for HSA, FSA, or LSA (Lifestyle Spending Account).

 

The salary range for this position in Boise, Idaho is: $82,800 -$101,200. However, final salary offered may vary depending on non-discriminatory factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experiences, and geographical location if different than the above.
