Position Description:

As the Design Supervisor, you are responsible for overseeing all operations within the Design Department and its associated processes including but not limited to: managing department processes, schedules, customer requests, audits, and projects. Essential Functions

  • Promote a positive work environment, while encouraging development and growth opportunities.
  • Conduct performance reviews for direct reports as required, overseeing their job performance and alignment with departmental and company objectives.
  • Address disciplinary and performance issues.
  • Provide support, monitoring, review, and coaching for improving processes.
  • Lead staff development, analysis, and implementation strategies.
  • Ensure seamless operation of daily responsibilities.
  • Oversee the resolution of quality issues to meet standards.
  • Train personnel in design processes, Design software, and granite industry.
  • Maintain and advance the technological capabilities of Design software.
  • Provide support for new product development endeavors.
  • Develop, modify, and manage various templates, file structures, documents, and materials.
  • Establish work procedure and processes aligning with company and departmental standards, emphasizing process enhancement, cost-effectiveness, and cross training.
  • Lead divisional L-10’s, one-on-ones, and additional meetings as required.
  • Manage the Sunburst Idea Center software monument tool for upgrades, enhancements, and development.
  • Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards with the designated areas.
  • Collaborate with Office Operations Manager as needed.
  • Use artistic skills to design and produce quality layouts for the families who are purchasing a memorial.
  • Support production questions or concerns that may arise with the layout and design.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of two-year certificate/degree in Graphic Design, Graphic Illustration, Fine Arts or Architectural Design.
  • If previous requirements are not fully met, the candidate must have high school diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of five years in the granite industry as a Graphic Designer.

Preferred Experience:

  • Five years experience in Graphic Design or Illustration.
  • Minimum of two years experience in leadership experience preferred.
