An Applications Engineer at Air Hydro Power researches, collects, and reports information on the ability and capacity of company products and competing equipment. They aid in the design and development of equipment and systems, and the redesign of existing systems to fulfill customers' needs.  Responsibilities also include providing equipment functionality and capability reports to the sales force and acting as technical liaison to the sales team. This role also provides extensive post-sales support to customers, aiding in deploying robots and associated systems in the field.

 Enter quotes, orders, and production orders into an ERP system to process through the shop.

  • Source, price, and purchase products for projects while working with new and existing vendors.
  • Work with shop foreman and assemblers as needed to complete projects to customer specifications.
  • Log and maintain files and data on projects and catalog library in engineering and AHP server. 
  • Design 80/20 assemblies using AutoQuoterX (AutoCAD).
  • Draw 2-D schematics for Fluid Power & Electrical systems using AutoCAD.
  • Design and draft mechanical adapters and manifolds in 3-D using Inventor and/or SolidWorks.
  • Program PLC, HMI, VFD, Servo, Vision, Robots, Safety, and other systems. 
  • Provide start-up assistance and on-site technical assistance to customers and salesmen.
  • Conduct on-site product training for customers. 

The qualified candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  A high mechanical aptitude, spatial reasoning skills, an interest in working with numbers and data, strong computer skills, and technical background are necessary for this role. To perform this job successfully, individuals should be very familiar with AutoCAD, Inventor Design software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
