TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Reports to: Vice President of Technology

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary

This individual will support a variety of technologies and must be able to contribute in multiple areas of the department. This position provides in-person or remote user support, as well as application troubleshooting, software and hardware upgrades, and various other IT tasks. Requirements include Bachelor’s degree, IT Certification, or 1+ years of relevant experience with a good understanding of networking and IT infrastructure. A great people person attitude and a strong desire to learn are also required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supporting users and systems with troubleshooting and other administrative tasks
  • Perform onboarding training for users on network and email security
  • Assume ownership of customer-facing technologies and handle all aspects of support
  • Research and develop new internal systems to assist with process improvement and overall efficiency
  • Complete special projects and other duties as directed by management
  • Respond to help desk requests from users and manage tickets
  • Install and configure new systems and hardware
  • Replace malfunctioning or damaged hardware
  • Troubleshoot software
  • Test, assess, and learn about updates and new technology
  • Perform Active directory and Microsoft Exchange user maintenance
  • Manage printers, faxes, scanners, smartphones, tablets, and other end user devices environments as needed
  • Maintain inventory and asset management of end user-based IT equipment and software

  • College degree in Computer Science or a related field, or IT Certification, or 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with one or more of the following preferred: Active Directory, Exchange Server, SharePoint, or Dynamics CRM
  • Excellent verbal & written communication

  • Ability to quickly process information and make decisions
  • Detail-oriented and excellent follow through
  • Must be dependable and able to work independently with little supervision as well as with a team of individuals

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is typically performed in normal office working conditions.
  • Position requires occasional overnight travel.
