Human Resources Generalist

 

Job Summary: The Human Resources Generalist has a primary focus on planning, developing, and administering Human Resource programs and policies.  The Generalist additionally acts as an HR liaison for all Store Management and associates.

This position will require travel along with a base salary and mileage reimbursement!

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Acts as strategic partner with retail operations groups by aligning objectives with HAC Inc’s goals
  • Identifies legal/governmental reporting regulations affecting H.R. functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance as well as recommends, develops, and implements changes as appropriate
  • Investigates and advises store management regarding appropriate resolution of employee relations and performance management issues.  Approves all terminations at store level prior to termination
  • Investigates and responds to union grievances.  Partners with Union Representatives/store management for appropriate solutions to issues raised
  • Serves as employee advocate by ensuring that all H.R. policies/practices are administered consistently and also accurately provides interpretation and direction in response to policy, procedure, and program inquiries
  • Audit stores for proper H.R. practices
  • Provides guidance and direction to H.R. Clerks regarding H.R. policies and practices
  • Develops, conducts, or coordinates store management/corporate training on proper human resources practices
  • Manage staffing and recruitment needs for corporate and store locations including placement of temporary agency staff
  • Maintain salaried performance management programs to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization
  • Develops and administers programs such as job descriptions, salary administration programs 
  • Conducts exit interviews and makes recommendations for procedural changes to reduce turnover
  • Completes miscellaneous projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of management OR HR experience
  • B.S. in Human Resources or related area OR more than 5 years of management experience
  • Knowledge of all federal, state, and local H.R. laws
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
